Mark Millar and Steve McNiven continue their awesome run on Wolverine and bring us one step closer to Hawkeye’s payday and, hopefully, answers to some of our biggest questions: Old Man Logan continues as Hawkeye and the former X-Man continue their journey through the Kingdom of the Kingpin to New Babylon in Wolverine #69. I was psyched to get my grubby mitts on the book this week. It seems like it’s been forever since Wolverine #68 came out, and the ending of that issue left me chomping at the bit. Mark Millar and Steve McNiven continue their awesome run on Wolverine and bring us one step closer to Hawkeye’s payday and, hopefully, answers to some of our biggest questions: What happened to Wolverine all those years ago?

Logan chases away the Mole Men with the light stick. Logan calls out for Hawkeye. Hawkeye yells back that he is still strapped inside of the Spider-Buggy. Logan flips the Spider-Buggy right side up. Logan turns on the Spider-Buggy’s lights and then surveys the scene. Logan informs Hawkeye that the Mole Men ate all of the thugs that were chasing them. X-Men Original Sin #1 REVIEW
The opening of the crossover between X-Men Legacy and Wolverine Origins has an interesting set up. The comic is split between both title’s creative teams into two chapters. The story is seamless in its hand off between teams. The comic deals with reestablishing Wolverine and Xavier’s relationship and bringing Wolverine’s son, Daken, into the picture for those who might not know him. It’s a good story but it doesn’t feel terribly essential for this crossover. The story starts with Wolverine dropping Daken off at the house of one of his friends. Then he heads to see the X-Men. He wants Emma to mind wipe his son’s conditioning. What he finds is that Xavier’s scent is all over Cyclops. Wolverine goes beserk and storms off.

One man does not want to remember. He is Logan, the hero formerly known as Wolverine. He has not used his claws since that final battle. Logan settled in Sacramento and is raising his family. His family is threatened by the Hulk Gang(Bruce Banner's descendants). They want rent money that Logan does not have. Creative Team Writer: Mark Millar Pencils: Steve McNiven Inks: Dexter Vines The pair is back on the road in the Spider-Mobile. Clint says that Salt Lake City is on the way to New Babylon. He will get Logan back in time to pay his landlords. Clint can't believe that his daughter is trying to be a superhero in a world run by villains but he is proud of her. Logan is watching from the car. He says "Damn you to hell for making me do this, Hawkeye."

Creative Team Writer: Mark Millar Pencils: Steve McNiven Inks: Dexter Vines Miss Banner refers to Logan as “Wolverine.” Logan answers that she can call him “Logan.” Miss Banner snipes that she forgot that Wolverine “died” the night the bad guys beat their asses. Miss Banner then introduces Logan to her brothers Otis and Charlie. Comments The Good: Wolverine #66 was an absolute blast to read. Millar did a fantastic job quickly hooking me with this debut issue of his story arc “Old Man Logan.” I have always found it clear that the source material for Wolverine was the Man With No Name. Logan has always come across as Marvel’s mutant Man With No Name. All the cartoon versions of Wolverine even sport that trademark Eastwood sounding voice.

Comic Book Review: Wolverine #53
Loeb supplies Wolverine #53 with solid dialogue. I like how Loeb handles Wolverine’s character. Wolverine has the proper external voice and he acts and reacts in the standard fashion that his character should. Loeb definitely has a better feel for Logan’s personality than Daniel Way over in Wolverine: Origins. And honestly, Wolverine’s past was irrelevant. Just about every Marvel hero has an origin and back-story. Not Wolverine. And that is what made him so unique. I always found it wild and bold that Marvel never gave Wolverine a real name or an origin. And that is what made Wolverine so special and cool.

Comic Book Review: Wolverine #52
I like how Loeb handles Wolverine’s character. Loeb serves up a proper sounding external voice for Wolverine. Loeb gives a Wolverine that isn’t too over the top and vanilla in personality like what Way gives us on Wolverine: Origins. Loeb goes with a version of Wolverine much more like how Claremont used to write him. The Bad: Wolverine #52 was just a pedestrian issue. Loeb has failed to hook me on this story arc. Now, part of why I haven’t gotten into this story arc is that I have a philosophical difference with Marvel Comics on the direction for Wolverine’s character. I maintain that it is a massive mistake to give Wolverine his memories back.
