Weekly Awards For The Comic Books From November 19, 2008

Tue, Nov 25 | Rokk's Comic Book Revolution
X-Factor #37 X-Factor #37 Writer: Peter David Well, David appears to have gotten X-Factor back on track. With the Secret Invasion storyline over it looks like David is going to try and pick up the pieces from Messiah Complex and continue to make X-Factor a quality read. X-Factor #37 was certainly a step in the right direction. David treats the reader to plenty of well crafted dialogue. The character work on X-Factor continues to be some of the best that you will see in a Marvel comic book. David clearly loves and understands the various members of X-Factor. The chemistry on X-Factor is fantastic and is certainly better than what you get on your typical comic book. Uncanny X-Men #504 The Winner: Uncanny X-Men #504

Uncanny X-Men #504 - Review

Tpull's Weekly Marvel Comics Review – Part Two

Another mini-series I almost passed on, with a bunch of little stories inside. Mystique has resurfaced already, making the “Kill Mystique” storyline in Wolverine even more ridiculous than it already was. Mike Carey and Michael Ryan do the writing and art on it, and it starts off well enoug...

ADVANCE REVIEW: Ultimate X-Men #94

Thumbnail Publisher: Marvel Comics Rating: 5/10 Following the departure of long-time writer Robert Kirkman, issue 94 sees the comic-book debut of Heroes writer Aron E. Coleite, joined by Mark Brooks on art. So, is this a good jumping on point for new and sceptical readers?

REVIEW: X-Men Divided We Stand #1

Thumbnail X-Men: Divided We Stand #1 of 2 Marvel Comics Carey, Peterson, Ponsor, Kyle, Yost, Takeda, Young, Beaulieu, Yost, LaFuente, Fraction & McKelvie Lastly, Nightcrawler confronts the one who nearly killed him, Scalphunter. This story is good for a couple of reasons. One, it really gives deep insight into Nightcrawler’s character. We even get the aspects of his spirituality which isn’t always presented with the character. Secondly, we see that not all the X-Men are lost in their purpose. Lastly, we see that the villains of the Messiah Complex aren’t exactly prospering since the war ended either. 4 out of 5 geek goggles. X-Men Divided We Stand #1 (of 2)

Comic Book Review: X-Men #207: Messiah Complex

Thumbnail We shift back to Rogue and Gambit. Rogue says that Mystique isn’t dead. Rogue mentions that when she was healed from the Strain 88, that all the minds she had absorbed over the years were also erased. That it was just Rogue. For about a minute. That now it is Rogue and Mystique in her head. Rogue says that she wish she had seen this sooner because then she never would have touched Mystique. Rogue then says that Mystique is the last person she ever wants to see and now Mystique is stuck in her head. Rogue then says that she needs to go away and be by herself and think. Rogue then leaves. Cable then teleports from the scene. As Cable is teleporting away, Bishop wakes up and screams “NO!” and fires several shots at Cable’s disappearing form. The shots wiz through wher...
